Last month EastCoast celebrated it’s 40th birthday in Richmond, Virginia. In 1976, Dennis Huber and Steve Thomas decided to create what would become the largest regional talent agency in the country. Today, with offices in Richmond, Charlotte, Atlanta, Charleston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Raleigh and Columbia South Carolina, EastCoast has set the standard for events worldwide.

There was much to celebrate. Mark Letson, who heads up the National Division of EastCoast, recently received the award for National Corporate Buyer of the year from his peers in the industry. Mark is just one example of how EastCoast has been an innovator in the industry and I don’t expect that to change.

The highlight of the night was Kenny Mann receiving the lifetime achievement award for 50 years in the entertainment industry. Kenny paved the way for many of us and is still going strong today with his band Liquid Pleasure. Kenny has remained true to his music. His focus on quality is a model that will always be in style.

It was a wonderful event topped off with an after party jam session. Many of the agents in the company are talented musicians who have made the transition from artist to agent. Some of the agents are still working musicians today.

As many of us know, there would be no music business without the staff who work behind the scenes to keep the artists working. EastCoast has proven over the past 40 years that they are the some of the best in the business.

EastCoast has a bright future. The company has a great mix of young talented agents and veterans who can guide the company forward for years to come. EastCoast understands the important work of providing entertainment for clients. They have been connecting clients and artists and making memories for 40 years. And I have been lucky to be part of it.

Cheers!

Dennis
